Avi Reichental’s Jewish mother wanted him to be a rabbi. While he didn’t take that particular path, during a long career in tech – prayer has certainly come in handy.

3D Printer Maker Reaches North American Distribution Agreement

3D printer maker Nexa3D on Thursday announced an agreement with additive manufacturing supplier Dynamism in hopes of expanding its North American distribution.

Under the partnership, Chicago-based Dynamism will lead North American channel sales for the Southern California company and enable Nexa3D to access Dynamism’s customer base.

Lightweighting’s New Phase

Earlier this decade, the auto industry moved to lighten cars and trucks. It was supposed to be a competition between steel, long the dominant vehicle material, and aluminum. The latter got a boost when Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich., bet big on aluminum, making aluminum bodies for its F-150 and Super Duty pickups.

Since our last chat at RAPID, Medalsy and Reichental said, the system has gotten even faster. And Nexa3D is keeping up its own pace, readying full production and taking over more of the floor space at the expanding XponentialWorks HQ.
